Great Neighborhood Homes: Design-Build in Edina and SW Minnepolis
Company History
Great Neighborhood Homes was established in 2004 by husband-and-wife team Margaret and Scott Busyn. As long-time Edina residents, they have an affinity for the location and charm of older city neighborhoods. But when it came to finding the right home for their family, one with all the amenities and enough growing space for three children, there weren’t a lot of options.
Working with the existing builders was frustrating. Margaret and Scott found the design and uniqueness lacking – the last thing they wanted was a cookie-cutter Monster House that the neighbors hated. They considered building a home on their own, but managing the selection process, the city, neighbors and architects, inspectors and contractors, and reams of paperwork made that an unappealing option. They decided there must be a simpler way to build beautiful new houses in the city’s best neighborhoods… and Great Neighborhood Homes was born!

Since then, Margaret and Scott have built more than $15 million worth of homes in Edina alone. By specializing in just two areas (Edina and Southwest Minneapolis), they’ve been able to develop an unmatched depth of expertise and strong community relationships.
Great Neighborhood Homes is a member of the Builders Association of Minnesota (BATC), National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and is a Minnesota GreenStar-Certified Builder.
